Hello everyone,
I was introduced to ABC via rugby, which I played for three years in college before a fractured skull forced me to stop excercising at all for a while.
Lo and behold, I came back to the site and started working in earnest starting in January 05 using the 24-week mass blitz which was amazing. I am just beginning on this journey but already the mental, physical, and indeed spiritual intensity has been amazing.
I just graduated with a degree in biochemistry so I hope that I will be able to add some insight from that realm every so often.
Thanks to ABC for everything that I have learned so far and I can't wait to learn more and add fuel to the fire.
STATS:
Age: 22
Height: 6'
Weight: 218
BF: ~12%

welcome!!! Great to have a biochemist on the site, you should be able to offer some interesting insights.
That sounds like one serious injury! did it happen playing rugby? Are you back playing rugby again now? I used to play. In fact this season just gone is the first year I didnt play. I was losing my enthusiasm for the sport so took a break.
See you on the boards.
Welcome, Mike! We are very glad to have you at ABC and look forward to your contributions!
Congratulations on your graduation! /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

In regards to my injury, I got tackled on frozen ground and unfortunately, my head hit the ground. I won't gross anyone out with the details, but I had actually done it several times before to soften it up without knowing.
I am not back playing now but I am flirting with the idea of playing with a men's club while I start my Ph.D. I have had to take two years off from any kind of contact sport but we'll see when this January comes around.
My playing weight as a outside center/ wing was 180 lbs, so it would be interesting to get back on the field at 220 and see where they put me.
Great to see a good pic of Lomu! Take it easy.

I love that pic, its been my sig for forever!
I was also a centre, mostly inside though. Although i was often moved to blindside wing forward (6) as well. In fact this was part of the reason I left the sport, I was always in the starting line-up but often moved from position to position due to my versatility. I felt not having extended runs in a given position was really hindering my improvement. I lost my enthusiam and decided to take a break.
Be careful going back to the game at 220! the might put you in at prop!! /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks to everyone for the welcome and support. I really had no idea how tight-knit and cool this community is. Second, hopefully I will never play prop. haha
Okay, time to shower.
