Hey guys quick question..
I know I read that creatin-monohydrate should be taken by itself with no additives but I bought this stuff called pre-load creatine complex from Optimim nutrition that looked pretty good. It has creapture brand creatine with lots of amino acids and goodies. What's wrong with this? I don't think I get enoguh amino acids as it is so I figure maybe this is a good combo?
Here's the nutritional label:

Opinions?
Thanks,

Ok I was worried about that, but it says that nearly all the carbs come from high-glycemic dextrose, doesn't this make it more useful?
Would it be more effective to take in the morning rather than loading carbs in my #1 or 2 meal?

No, that makes it useless.

No, it would be more effective to either return, or flush down the toilet.
Bottom line - do not use this supplement.

Wait a second. You knew/know that creatine monohydrate is superior to any other forms of creatine but you still proceed to buy the "Pre-load, Pro-complex" form? Sounds more of an ignorance issue. Anyways next time post this in the creatine sticky at the top of the nutrition forum. Also read Joe Yu King's article, Creatine: A Meta Analysis (http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/CreatineMeta-analysis.php).

The reason this product is dubbed a "pre-load" supplement is because it is supposed to saturate the muscles with creatine. The dextrose is meant to enhance the uptake of creatine into the system. While this does work, the loading protocol required 20-25 grams a day spaced out between 4-5 servings. It is not healthy to spike insulin this frequently. Doing so can decrease insulin sensitivity and put unnecessary stress on the pancreas.
Also, numerous studies have indicated that the loading phase with water will work just fine in complete muscle saturation. But be sure to spoon the creatine directly into your mouth and swallow with a few sips of water.

Thank you for an in-depth answer. I read the FAQ and yes maybe it sounded like an act of ignorance but I was more interested in the details of why it isn't good rather than just calling it crap. Joe answered this, thank you
