So I was doing T-bar rows the other day with the barbell in a corner of the gym. I'm not sure if my form was off or what, but I pulled a little too hard on one rep and BAM, the bar went straight into my crotch. Wow, did this hurt, but I finished off my set just the same.

Use a handle and chain with a little drop. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I did that last week, but thankfully stopped pulling when the bar flew up.
My training partner doubted the need for my request for him to stand on the back of the barbell (we have to use a free barbell loaded on one end, and do it straight off the ground. We have no machine). So he took a step off after one set, I didn't pay attention, first rep the bar comes flying up and almost ruined my night. He thought it did hit me, and was laughing nonstop about 10 minutes because of how it looked /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Mmm, you can always load the other end with a 25 lb plate or something. That works just dandy for me.

I usually lay another barbell over it, but all the free ones were gone.

That's a waste of a barbell /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I do more with that barbell by laying it on the ground than half the assjockeys who would otherwise use them in the first place /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hey MO, I always put the end of the barbell in a corner of the gym so it remains stationary, never had any problems with the back of the barbell moving around that way.

All of our corners are covered, the only open areas are flat. I usually wedge it into a rack that's abutting a wall, but that space was taken at the time. Can't win 'em all!
