I think the injury is in my rear deltoid. I don’t know how I got the injury but now it HURTS to lift the barbell of the mantle when doing DECLINE BENCH, and it hurts to do Seated Bent-Over Dumbbell Laterals. This pain only occurs with my left side. I have not seen a doctor yet but rather tried to do light weighs with Seated Bent-Over Dumbbell Laterals and light weights DECLINE BENCH ( only lifting off mantle) with the hope of strengthening it (it doesn’t hurt to do light weight just when I go heavier). What should i do?
Thanks so much.

If you don't want to go to a doctor, rest it for several days, ice it and then go back for the first several weeks of doing high reps and low weights to rehab it. In the meantime, avoid any and all exercises that cause pain.
But, I'd recommend that you see a doctor.

We don't know, that's the thing. We are essentially saying you should go on the safe side and be careful with it, to let it pass with time, and we are also suggesting to see the doctor.
Hi,
today I spent couple hours hunting for bench that can have inclide flat and decline position(s).
Problem is that every single reseller seems to say that. And I was in several shops, some of the guys there had the body that was telling me they speak from experience.
What i was told can be summarized in
- newer benches don't have that
- seek for used old bench
- it will damage your spine
- it is bad for you
- use flat and incline only
Is there any truth in their claims? thanks in advance.

Be careful man, it could be your rotator cuff. I injured mine...make sure to take Nsaids day and night, and rest it buddy. I would seriously see a doc. though. Sometimes you end up getting screwed and living w/ pain your whole life until you get surgery. Mine STILL hurts and is uncomfortable sometimes after like, a year. Exercise caution buddy /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
And if that was the case Blux, i bet hundreds of thousands of extra people would have spine problems. I think its just a marketing ploy, so you buy three diff. benches. If you just meant decline, thats not true. It puts you in a different position than you may be used to, but definately not damaging.
