I know knee pain is common, but i simply cant afford to visit a doctor at the moment and i need any input u guys might have.....
whenever i walk down stairs, or straight up jog, i get some pain right under my patella, I beilive in the patellar ligament is where i get the pain. its not severe, but it's enough to impair my abilities, what can this be? and how abouts can i go to remedy it?

Hmm well I have tendonitis in that region. My cartilage in my knee is slowly tearing away so I don't know if this would be the right information for you. My PT told me when I do squats, I should only go down about 75 degrees and as I get stronger I can eventually get down to 90 but this takes a very long time. He also told me when I do leg extensions or leg curls, I should only go down to where I can see the tip of my toes then come back up. He said also to warm up with light weights (30 reps or so, nice and slow).

How old are you? Could be growing pains. But if not, then it could just be tendinitis. And all you can really do is ice it everyday and just stay off of it for a while.

That's how my knee pain is. Everyone told me if was growing pains, but I haven't grown in 3 years. It could be growing pains though, for your sake I hope it is.

At 16 I think it is very possible that it could be growing pains but if it comes and goes all the time(based on activity such as jumping or squatting) then it could be tendinitis and all you can really do is ice your knees and take some time off from anything that might aggrevate your knees.

Sounds like torn cartlidge to me. I tore the cartlidge in my left knee during high school but was still able to finish the season. In the morning, my knee would usually feel fine again but during practice, it would swell up and then it would be really tough walking down the steps to the locker room. It also hurt when I jogged but it was the kind of pain that you could deal with, at least I did for a little over a month.
If you can't see a doctor, I'd at least take it easy on it until you are able to.
