I was doing deadlifts on the weekend and after I had finished I had a bit of pain on my left hand side lower back (right where my back and buttock meet). I think it is a trapped nerve or something, walking is fine but if I move my left leg up while sat down(kind of like a leg extension movement) I get a sharp pain in that area. I am using some anti inflammatory cream at the moment. Is there anything I can do, doctor was useless with there advice I don’t want to hear about this is where I used to have a tail /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Can’t I just do some stretching or something to stretch it out? If it was something like a disk problem I couldn’t walk without pain could I? Any advice or tips most grateful.

I actually did some rowing other day and it felt like it loosened it up a bit, this is why I think it might just be a trapped nerve or something.

Someone else mentioned that as well, just checked out a web site for one, looks like it could help, thanks nozzle.

I ahd exactly that and it went away after a couple of days. voice. Be careful picking up things like your shoes or whatever too quickly - w/o a warmup these are the things that aggravated it. Take a week or so easy on the back + I jsut made sure I warmed up better for back day and would hang off the chin bar btween sets to stretch everything out. Chiro or physio will def help tho

Try sleeping on your back without a pillow...or sleep on the floor on your back. Usually helps reduce or get rid of the pain.

I had a similiar problem after my back workout 2 weeks ago, I don't even know what caused it, I just noticed that the area near the butt hurts when I turn, exactly like you are describing anyway it went away after a few days.

On the first days sleeping was kind of uncomfortable too, even though it didn't hurt.

It could have tweaked your S1 joint.

I would recommend going to a sports doc. I recommend every bodybuilder find one on their insurance plan.

Chances are you may have an inbalance in flexibility in your hip flexors or hip area in general. A good physical therapists could assess you and give you a routine for correcting the problem.
