I apologize Nutmeg. No more track for me. I'm done. But after a layoff I decided to start lifting again ( Here I am). More than likely I will not do Track and Field any longer. The time commitment is far too much (4-6 hours a day) for what I'm studying--Biomedical Engineering. I have to devote that time to my thesis and even then I don't have enough time.
I'm certain however you nor anyone else wants me to moan, complain, or hear me itch with a capital B....so I left that part out. Sorry. /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
What I did do of it, I did well. Depending on how quickly I finish this project will determine how much time I have for a season in the future. In the next year I must also complete a team design project that will help someone with a disability.
The project takes a lot of man hours and about 5 people are on a project team. This is a requirement for my major. Most projects involve mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering with a biomed theme that comes from the patients needs.
The project itself could be really fun and great to do..but I always invest myself highly into what I'm doing to make sure everything turns out excellant to superior.
It was hard for me to come to terms with this decision ( regarding Track) but for this stage in my life my primary focus needs to be Biomedical Engineering and not Track.
If nothing else I have laid the foundation for a healthier lifestyle. /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Happy Birthday!!! I didn't get your message until after I read your other journal. I'm kind of glad cause I really enjoyed your other journal and it looks like this one is starting off great too.
I know it was quite a few months ago that you asked this but I hardly ever use a weight belt just because I don't want to become dependent on anything since it will only weaken me in the long run. The only time I use straps really is for dumbbell shoulder shrugs since my hands usually give out before my shoulders do.
Anyways, good luck with all your goals and I'll continue to check up on you.

Yesterday's workout was Delts/Traps but instead of posting the workout I would rather state that I am pretty sure I may have strained my left rotator cuff. I talked to Goldmill about it and that is what he believes it is. I plan taking it easy until it feels better and is no longer inflamed. Any suggestions on rehabilitation would be appreciated other than ice and anti-inflammatories?

Changed up my diet a bit. From 125 g of carbs down to 64g of carbs. Now I'm going to hover around 10g of carbs for the rest of the month. My body really needs to be harassed to work properly, lol.

I stepped back from my 445 pull yesterday (weak, I know, but I was feeling sick and weak, so I'll puss out and use that as an excuse) and shouted at the bar "You are mine now! You belong to me!" If I had someone to act as enabler, I think I would go full-on psycho in the gym.
After the meet I'm going to try and press my 150 pound rock over my head. That is going to rule.

XLJP is competing at my schools' strongman compeition, xsJP. (for those not in on the joke xsJP is extra small JP, XLJP is my boyfriend aka Goldmill.)
They'll have atlas stones so I think you should send that rock down here buddy. /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
The other events are a van pull, tire flip, crucifix, and something else. There is a womens' division but noone has entered it ( go figure). So I'm not gonna be the winner by default, /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.

Yeah you would think my brain would need to function on some kind of substance but my Doctor who is very well respected wanted me at low low low. I really can't get any lower because 2 cups of salad has 3g of carbs and my whey has a little bit too.

After I finished I wanted to go back and do Good Mornings but I figured it was too late. :shrug: I think the heat of the gym made more flexible. My legs felt like gumby. Now I know all the fuss is about over the hot yoga-I think it's called asthanga?

yah, ashtanga, doesn't mean it's good for you, just means you are more pliable, you can still snap tho, and of course 100+ degree weather is just so fun to stand around in and have everything stick to where you don't want it to.
