Since I'm kinda ill here at work and don't feel like answering my phone and furthering my earache, I figured I'd try to get a cool discussion going on a topic I haven't seen before.
Me, I collect 1/18 scale diecase Mustangs. Like that surprises anyone, right? I have a few non-Mustangs but they take up the main real estate in the show cases.
I have a few smaller ones that I've just accumulated somehow and need to pick up a few more so they have friends. As soon as I find 'em, that is. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Also I collect Todd McFarlane's music figures. He's the guy who created Spawn & the action figure line, and does tremendous work on his figures. He comes out with a couple music icon figures each year and I pick up the good ones.
I used to collect wrestling figures which helped me relive my childhood, back in high school, and I really went nuts with it. I swear my room looked like a giant toy store with shelves and shelves of hundreds of figures, and walls full of them hanging in their packages. I couldn't have every one I wanted when I was a kid without money, so I made up for it and then some /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif Those are long gone and boy did I make a killing when I sold off the collection /forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Oh, my Mustang collects trophies /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
So what's collecting dust at your house, ABC? /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Pictures encouraged!

I used to collect beer cans when I was younger... seriously conetops, church key cans, and contemporary. Only brands from the US. I had over 2000 different cans at one point. Don't collect cans any more and the collection is gone. I like to pick up shot glasses where ever I go on vacation. I have probably about 30 or 40 of those....
^ This is all kinda ironic considering I rarely if ever drink alcohol any longer LOL

I used to collect Spiderman action figures back when I was younger...
And by "collect", I mean I constantly bugged my mom to bring me to the local K-Mart or even to the Toys R Us that was 20-30 minutes away just so I could buy another action figure.
Ah well, those were the days /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cool guys /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I LOVE toys. I don't know what it is but they are just too cool. Back when they came out I was close to starting a collection of the talking Simpsons figures, but I knew aforehand how much they were going to blow up. That would've been a huge investment, lol.

Other than that I don't really collect anything. but I do have four calculators. A pair of 48GII's, a 48GX, and a 33s. I, too, have accumulated some nice debt!

I have a pretty big collection of vintage star wars figures(the original ones) i havent really thought about them for a while after i finished up getting all of the figures. Too bad i wasnt born back in 1977 when the were produced. Most of these were toys when i was a kid but they are in mint condition still. Aww the memories.

I collect art books (paintings, sculpture, stuff like that). I think it's so cool that you can see things in a book that less than a century ago only people who could afford to travel to the Louvre in Paris would be able to see. They'd go on these trips, visit the museums, and in some cases it would change their lives. Now, you can just go to the local Barnes and Noble.

haha I still have about 200 GBKs... and about a year ago they did a limited run of some new ones; I've got about 30 of those. Most of my old ones are 2nd and 3rd edition. Good stuff!
Other than that, I collect knives mostly; everything from cheap Pakistani folders to a $175 (wholesale) Benchmade gravity knife with a ceramic blade and titanium handle. A couple of fixed-blades and butterflys as well. What I REALLY want is a Paul Chen katana though, with a folded steel blade... I am not crazy. /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I have a couple of guitars as well; Carvin DC 120, Fender Strat that's been modified quite a bit, Ovation nylon string, Yamaha dreadnought, and a slim Alvarez acoustic. All players, though, not collectibles. Main amp is a Marshall JCM2000 DSL half stack.
Lastly, I own McFarlane's Army of Darkness Ash figures, both the little one and the big one that spits out one-liners. Nerds unite!

I have three guitars myself. Two of them are accoutsic (Martin, Alvarez) and one's an electric (Peavey Preditor...I think).
MansonOzz
02-09-2005, 02:51 PM
My old guitar collection:
Applause GTX - Strat copy, angled neck, really cool paint job. My first guitar and I kept it around for 2nd duty, and it had killer action!
Epi Les Paul - wine red
BC Rich Warlock - black, loaded with EMGs. This one blew, I didn't have it long. I didn't enjoy playing it at all.
Lastly, an acoustic/electric by Martin, I believe.
Crate 75w practice amp
Marshall JCM800 100w tube head with Peavey 4x12. I gave that up and got a Crate Excalibur & Marshall 4x12 slant. That head sucked the hugest balls! Dropped that, picked up a Mesa-Boogie 50w tube Dual Rectifier, and this thing flat out cranked. I didn't even need my distortion pedal most the time, the 2nd channel was so brutally harsh /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif All the while I also had a small 20w practice no-name amp.

Still can't believe you sold the Mesa. GAAAAAAAAAAAAH. I don't sell guitar equipment once I get it, unless it either totally blows or I bought it to sell. The only pieces of guitar equipment I've hever had and gotten rid of were...
Kasino 75W SS head: GIven to me. $75, see you later.
Early eighties chorus box of some kind, a couple Ibanez distortion pedals, practically new Crybaby: Traded this stuff in when I got my...
Roland GP-8!!! Then I got rid of it and haven't really used any effects since. I miss this box; it would be useful.
Ibanez Roadstar II: It was mint green and my first real guitar. I sold it to my cousin and he unloaded it for something else. /forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif I wish I had it back, since it was my first real guitar.
Mesa DC-3: Bought to sell. Paid $385, got $610.
I knew nothing about anything as a teenager. Stupid, stupid, stupid! I wish I had all that gear back. That's why I don't sell anything anymore.

The only ones I still have are few of the model cars, some of the stamps and coins and a few knives. Everything else was given away. I had about 300 1/24 model cars, about 50 1/18 and a ridiculous amount of matchbox cars. I think I only have 30 left of all kinds combines, wish I could get them all back!

I collect useless information, trivia, and movie quotes. It goes with me everywhere as well.
I'm about to start a graphic design library. I have a lot of magazines collected, mostly guitar and car rags. I'm going to throw them away soon, they take up way too much space and are a pain in the (I love Jesus!) to move.
My guitar collection is miniscule: My first guitar, a Peavy Raptor, and my Lonestar Strat. Princeton 112+, a Danelectro Chorus and an early RAT.

LMAO @ Canadian dollars jokes.
The Prowler sucks. Like....the idea is a nice thought, but the execution is triple extra lame. Same thing with the Bel-Air concept.
Horsepower 214 BHP @ 5850 rpm
Torque 300 Nm/221 ft lb @ 3100
*yawn* Then again, I'm guessing the stock chassis might not be beefy enough to handle much torque anyways. The Bel-Air concept was a little better...
[ QUOTE ]
The Bel Air is powered by a Vortec 3500 turbocharged inline five-cylinder concept engine based on the highly regarded inline engine family that debuted in GM's midsize sport-utility vehicles. The all-aluminum engine delivers up to 315 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque, and is mated to a Hydra-Matic 4L60-E electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission.
[/ QUOTE ]
Still and all, the curb weight is probably enough to sink it. Booooooooo.
If you're going to take the time and effort and capital to start up a "different" car line like the Prowler, make it a killing machine. If someone can drop $40K on a brand new, worthless car for two, they can definitely afford a nice V8. Or at least a huffed V6 with some balls.
I'd rather have a Marauder than either one of those cars. With the 4.6L aftermarket in full swing, you could have all kinds of fun playing Grandpa's Grocery Getter right before you laid the smack down on some ricity ricers.
MansonOzz
02-10-2005, 01:05 PM
LOL. Paxton makes a blower for the Prowler. That'd be fun. I'm sure if I were to drive a Prowler I'd be hitting the red WTF button in about 3 seconds flat. "Mayday! Mayday! This car has no balls!"
But as far as sitting in the garage with the hood down goes, the Prowler is pretty tight!
The DOHC 4.6's LOVE boost, I think a blown Marauder would catch a whooooole lot of people off guard. Plus it doesn't attract anywhere near the attention of a Mustang or Camaro. You could have some 275's on the rear and lt/xp/exh and cops would still be ignoring it.
My biggest beef with the Prowler is that, despite having the high-dollar price tag, it still has the plasticy looks. That and it's 7th grade track star power.

I used to collect stamps...
lately I have been collecting cookbooks and also pots and pans and kitchen utensils... LOL
I have All Clad Stainless steel series, Lodge cast iron grills and pans and pots, Calphalon saucepan and pan, Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker, Le Creuset grill and oval roaster, Römertopf clay cooker ( I got two of 'em), Nordic Ware wok, hand hammered carbon steel Chinese woks, Spanish paella pan, original Paul Revere Ware copper bottom stock pot (made in 1929!), two Tramontina commercial stainless steel stock pots (that is big enough to cook for an army !) and of course the requisite Kitchen Aid mixers (I got two, one is the Classic 3.5 qt in white and the second is the Professional Commercial 6 Qt in Cobalt Blue), Professional Vitamix mixer, Champion fruits and veggies juicer, Hamilton Beach Commercial blender, Delonghi stainless steel Retro toaster oven, KitchenAid gas stove with gas convection oven, commercial infrared stainless steel grill for grilling steaks to get steakhouse quality steaks, Zojirushi rice cooker, two sets of professional quality knives made by Sabatier of France and Tramontina of Brazil (similar to German knives but more inexpensive), quite a few Chinese cleavers, Wellbilt convection oven, Professional portable stainless steel outdoor 2 burner stoves (20,000 BTU each)....
You get the idea....
Don't even mention the cooking utensils...LOL
If I had a house and half of the house was occupied by the kitchen, I would call it an ideal house ! LOL
My dream stove would be an Aga oven and stove...it costs around $12,000-30,000 depending which models and features you want and I believe it is made in Ireland. The nice thing is that the oven never gets shut off, the oven and stove is always ON!...that unit weights about 900 pounds...I probably would have to settle with a Viking or other professional stove costing only $4000.
Now you know why I have to work out...LOL I just bulk, naturally...
