This is difficult. A cat adopted my family about 2 months ago. It was a young cat, probably 4-8 weeks. Well we (particularly I) fell in love with that cat. Very playful, etc. Ally (the cat) was quite adventerous in the backyard (we have a pretty good size backyard, maybe 1/2 acre) with tree's and shed's... She started hunting more. She seemed extremely happy, we gave her the best food, etc... I gave her SOO much attention...

Well 3 days ago we stopped seeing her, she just dissapeared. I checked the roads, she wasn't hit on any roads near my house (and I really doubt she would get hit, she was very quick and would get out of the way of someone walking, etc..) I'm quite a bit more upset then I ever thought I would be over a "cat".

We live in a suburb area, lots of land around, a field across the street, not very busy streets.

What im wondering, could she just be out exploring? She's probably 5-6 months old right now, we are getting her spayed (if she comes back) this wednesday. So maybe she's in heat and she's looking for male cat's. Maybe a family let her in the house? Will she come back?

Bottom line... do cat's ever take off for a few days or longer and then return like nothing happened?

cats always find their way home. ALWAYS. but not if theyve been hit by a car. I would probably say something happened to her, but then again she might be off on walk about. You can never tell with cats.

I would say if she is frindly with people she defintely could be in someone else's house right now. Some people are good to strays but others are not. I have a cat that lives a few doors down. It wanders on my property and even came into my house a couple times when the door was open. I don't mind but I know some people that wouldn't be so nice to it.

Three days is a long time to be missing but if she can she will find herself home. Sorry dude.

Growing up, I had a cat that went missing for 2 weeks and then all the sudden came back.

I'm sure some other family thought she was a stray and took her in. Or animal control picked her up. Have you tried the local animal shelters?

Definetely tried the animal shelters. Cats dont usually get lost.

I've tried the animal shelter. We live in a relatively small agricultural town, about 20,000 people. Not a really tight packed town when it comes to streets. I could definitely see someone trying to take her in as a "stray". She is adorable. Thanks for the help guys, i've had friends that say they have had cat's that take off for a week sometimes. I'm just hoping she's ok.

P.S. I really don't think she's dumb enough to get hit by a car, especially around here, no turns, just straight aways, no way she'd get surprised. Heck, she runs from a handsaw, no way a car would surprise her.

You could put up a couple signs. My cat had jumped off my balcony and was missing for a few hours, I made a few signs and put them up and someone found her and brought her back. By the sounds of it you are really missing her so it would be worth the try to put up some pocters in a few busy areas.

Yeah, some signs might let people know that she is yours if they took her in by accident.
