I know that oats are the greatest morning cereal due to the fact that they digest slowly in the body. However, I am currently bulking and I have just been dying to have a bowl of normal cereal again for breakfast one day? Can I cheat once and a while?
Nothing is wrong with a cheat once in a while. Many bulkers are constantly cheating /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif while others are bulking clean. If you are cutting you should be more careful.
However, cereal for a cheat? My idea of a breakfast cheat is 6 slices of whole wheat french toast(about 8 eggs worth)with maple syrup and a whey shake to wash it down. /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If you keep your calorie's within your normal limits of your typical breakfast but your just eating different foods (e.x.: cereal) is it really a cheat then?

What's better 500 calories of Chicken breast and green veggies with flax oil or 500 calories worth of KFC chicken and fries with gravy?
Calories is not the only deciding factor. Macros, Calories, ingredients etc, all have to be taken into consideration.

Consider that your body reacts differently at the chemical level to what you eat..We are talking about feeding muscle for athletic performace! Only the best!!!! 24 g of carbs could come in different forms but the way it affects your blood sugar levels, moods, etc is different if the carbs come from oatmeal than if they come from pop tarts.
I say, cheat like Coz said! Maybe a meat lover's breakfast from Dennis! LOL *ok that is like extreme but hey...it is cheap! LOL*

French toast made with 1 part yolk to four parts egg white, and whole grain bread - nothing else, then pour the leftover egg mixture into a pan with FF cheese for an omelet on the side. How is that a cheat?

That is not a cheat. 4 whole eggs, 1 piece of white bread, powdered sugar and syrup is a cheat!!

Kroger grocery stores has a grape nuts knock off called "nutty nuggets." It has whole wheat in it and nothing really that bad for you. Cereal without the guilt!
