what are the requirements to participate(besides being massive). such as an estimate on what you need to be capable of doing to go there,

my guess is that their requirements would be on an official website (if they have one, which they should by now)...they certainly must have something close to what your looking for.

just remember the kind of weight that they deal with, whenever they are shown on espn...when they decide to have a worlds strongest man competition for people between 180lbs-200lbs then i'll train the hardest ever.

Well, first of all, I'm sure you would need to win quite a few local/national strongman competitions first. Check to see if there's one in your area, go watch it, and then think about participating at some point.

If you want an idea of what the WSM participants are PHYSICALLY capable of, check their personal websites. Mariusz Pudzianowski, for instance, lists a slew of his lifts on his site (from memory; 750-800lb deadlift, 350lb military press with a log, 500 or 600lb bench, etc...). Very high maximal strength, but even more importantly you have to possess high strength-endurance (being able to work with very heavy, cumbersome loads for extended periods of time). It would take a lot of work to get to WSM. As I said, check for small-time local comps first and work your way up.

oh...and...those anabolics(you know the ones)...which are like dropping the 'f' bomb in this forum, from my understanding, may have to be considered.

Not to say you couldn't do it without AAS, but yes, without a doubt many (if not all) WSM competitors use them.

I competed last summer in a local strongman competition and lost first place by one point. Actually, I should have won, but it wasn't politically correct for an American to come into a small Russian town and win their first ever strongman compeition. They had to give it to a local boy.

I have done strong man things, I love em. You basically have to start winning local, get some points up, win some regional, then go up from there. Hugo Girard doesn't do roids and is one of the worlds strongest men and he has records in logpress. He is highly against them and preaches about how bad they are in all of his demostrations.

Just find a local competition and either enter or go and watch to get an idea of what kind of weights you are going to be dealing with since local competitions use lighter weight then the guys you see on TV.
