Most of the light yogurts are fat free but they are all full of sugar.. I thought yogurt was good for you?

Yes, it is good in terms of aiding a 'normal' digestion etc (esp the bio ones).. some have a little musli or something in there too - but for our purpose of BBing the sugar content is an issue (even with teh low fat ones). Though i presumeit will have the caesin (slower released) protein qualities of milk/dairy... which along with the sugar content some dont like to have bc it slows down digestion - say when mixed with whey.
I am bulking so dont mind a little strawb-yogurt here and there for flavour but generally Mate, go straight for the cottage cheese. Similar consistency, similarly tasteless, loads of caesin protein, and in the same refrigerated part of the supermarket! great before bed...

I am trying to cut for a little while sense ive just started back and my b/f has gotten a little out of control.. I think Ill ditch the yogurt and try to get my carbs from oatmeal or veggies. Ive never had cottage cheese.. do you eat it plain or put it on something?

I use Danon low-carb yogurt (from BJ's, Costco or Sams). They're great, high protein, low in fat and low in carbs.

Eat the CC plain. Or if you have trouble eating it, eat it with some celery. You can also flavor your CC with cinnamon and splenda.

well... yogurts very so vastly... but the sugars most likely include lactose and even fructose if it's fruit-flavored. Look at the ingredients and see how high up on the list that sugar is added...

get plain organic yogurt and add your own fruit/flavoring.

I just put some ground pepper on it to kick it up a notch. It's really not bad, though I'll admit it took a little getting used to.

Yogurt really doesn't have a place on a cut.

I used yogurt while cutting to great effect. Simply only eat it in the mornings.
I had cottage cheese with yogurt, oatmeal and ground flaxseed first thing in the morning followed by meat and green leafy vegetables for the rest of the day. I went from 155 to 140 in 3 months... While my measurements did not change very much. I was quite happy with that result. Then again, I'm also a meso-ecto, so my metabolism is very high.
What I personally found out quite quickly is that the "fat free" stuff is filled with sugar instead, which is way worse on a cut than the regular yogurt. I find a little yogurt thrown on CC gives it some nice taste.

I think I will give the CC a try.. my bodyfat has to be around 16% or more at the moment.
