I was looking for some oatmeal shakes and somebody said something about denature. What is it?? It sounds bad.

yea they were talking about the oatmeal shake might denature. how do you prevent it and how long does it take to happen and what is it?

When I make oatmeal with whey, I let the oatmeal cool down and then add the whey. I would imagine that the process would start as soon as protein hit the hot water

or you don't have to heat the oatmeal at all, just stick raw oats in the blender with the whey. This way you dont have to worry about the whey being denatured.

why is it denatured? Because the oatmeal is hot? (what does denature mean?)

It's probably fine right out of the microwave, just don't add the whey BEFORE you put it in!
