I've almost finished planning my new diet, and just had a question on chicken breasts. I went to my local grocery store today, and found 6 chicken breasts (skinless, boneless) at a weight of 1.5kg. Therefore each would be about 250g? I went to www.calorieking.com (http://www.calorieking.com) and it told me that each breast would contain 57g of protein!! Is this right, or did I do something wrong? Thanks.

**** you austrilians and your g and kg!

kg = 2.2 lbs correct?

So I take it 250g = ~.5 lbs. I'd say in the range of 40-45g of protein would be more accurate

lol, yeah 1kg = 2.2lbs. And 250g would = 0.55lbs

I knew chicken breasts contained a lot of protein, just didnt realise it was THAT much. I thought it would be about 25g. Oh well, I guess thats good news! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dice up a chicken breast and brown them in a pan using EV Olive Oil. Add some diced red peppers and broccoli with 1/2 cup of water and any spices you like ( I use garlic and thyme). Cover and simmer for 10 minutes and serve over whole wheat pasta or brown rice.

Check the foodtv.com website for marinades. There is some good stuff on that site. Just sift through the fatty garbage.

make sure if your weiging pre cook that you find the option on calorieking for raw chicken. What i do is cook it then weigh it out. seems to be more accurate that way.
