Last time I checked my pulse out (yesterday) it was 115, today my heart is beating just as hard. This is not after any type of activity, just sitting on the compputer?? I have done nothing different to my diet and am taking nothing new, any ideas? I havent been to the gym in about 4 days now

Have you been getting as much quality sleep as usual? Poor sleep can adversely affect blood pressure and pulse-rate. And even though you haven't trained in 4 days, how long has it been since your last break? Have you been training especially hard lately? Any new stress in your life? There's a lot of possibilities...

I have had a different sleeping pattern lately, usually right when I get off work (around 4) I will take a nap for an hour or 2. I still get the usual 7-8 hours of sleep a night though. No new stress. My last break was maybe a month ago for about a week, now another 4 days - I'm probably looking at another couple more days off too.. my hip is messed up again /forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Hmmm, how bad is the hip? I might be wrong here, but I believe fairly bad injuries can increase your heart rate to some degree.

It's pretty serious, I'm gonna run up to the store and find out my true pulse.. it's probably a little unaccurate because I struggle to fit my arms in those stupid things /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

be back in a few

Not following you now we talking pulse or blood pressure? Why would go through the trouble to use a blood pressure monitor to take your pulse? Just use your fingers on your neck or wrist.

Anyways, a lot of things can affect your pulse. Yes, injuries can increase your pulse. However, if it is consistently high or even if it suddenly increases when your activity hasn't you should see a doctor.

81 is in the normal range for light activity...you are walking aroung etc... Take your pulse as soon as you wake up in the morning to figure out your resting pulse rate.

I had to run up to the store to stock up on oatmeal, I figured why I was there to have it check my pulse. Are they not accurate?

I'll check in tomorrow morning and see how the reading is

Sure they are accurate, but it is just as easy and accurate to take your pulse on your own that I didn't understand why you had to go to the store to take it. /forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

You measured 81 when you were outside walking around in the store. Rest for 20 minutes and try again, I am sure now that you are home and rested a bit it will be lower than 81.

Even at my house my resting heart rate feels higher than normal, and I feel like I'm getting the sweats more often.. I was laying in my bed earlier today and my shirt was drenched, my mom claims it's not hot in the house and it's just me.. but who knows
