Ive always been told to try and avoid sodium but every **** thing I pick up has a good amount of sodium in it... jerky, V8 juice, hot sauce, just about any so called healthy TV dinner. How bad is sodium? What are foods to avoid?

I wouldn't say sodium is bad, but the products you're listing is using it as a preservative, so it's not necessarily as the sodium article would have you consume it.

what's bad is frozen dinners! If you lack time, cook your meals in multitude and keep in refrdgerated. Yes everything has sodium, remember the obese world we live in! I dont think it is that bad for you unless you are at risk of high blood pressure etc. It does make you retain water very much so, and it takes a while for that weter to leave your system. I use "Drew's" brand dressing as a marinade or salad dressing, and has only healthy fats and like 70 mg of sodium per serving, its natural and delicious. Instead of soy sauce, use liquid aminos "bragg's" brand is the stuff, its flavorfull and so much better for you. ou can't hide from it, but you can make cut backs and go for stuff lowER in sodium. **** fat people and their need for everything to be saturated n sugar and salt!

Atleast I never salt anything I eat.. Ive never liked salt and have a hard time eating cooked hams that arent low salt. Guess ill cut back on on sodium as much as I can.

Hey, just buy a bunch of chicken breasts. Grill/roast/pan-sear them, add some hot sauce or BBQ sauce, and you're done! Low-sodium too! (eh, well, I'm not sure about the BBQ sauce, I don't believe in using it as a condiment...)
Another option would be to add cottage cheese, if you like that. I'll add some olive oil and put it in the pan, then add 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. Tastes just like Alfredo sauce to me.
Sodium isn't that hard to avoid. Just avoid prepackaged foods, basically.
