They are good protein, high in Omega 3's also. I eat the skinless boneless ones. 24 gr. of protein per can.

Yeah, the whole can. I dump it onto a plate and dig in.

24 g protein in a can. how big is the can? i remember looking and a serving was like 3 sardines @ 3g, so 1g per sardine. maybe i calculated wrong??

the square can thingy in my cupboard has 2 servings each with 11 grams proein. The whole can:
cal: 240
Pro:22
Fat:9
sat fat: 4
sodium: 600 (wow thats a lot!)
these are soaked in veg oil with adde salt, maybe you can find them in water with no added alst, I have seen them soaked in hot sauce n stuff too.

how about raw herring? I let it soak in fresh water which takes the sodium out of the herring which is heavily salted. Then when ready we put some vinegar, olive oil, and some finely chopped onions - oh, man, try it :-)

I eat everything in sight /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif including sardines. I found them must tastier than Tuna, but the place where I used to by them now only has them in oil so I stick to tuna.

where on earth do you get raw herring? And... they sell sardines soaked in water?

I eat the skinless boneless ones in Olive oil. If I don't feel like that much fats, I simply drain the olive oil, still leaves the taste of it.
