Hi. I wanted to know if there were any protein bars that did not contain nuts or traces of nuts. I checked the health food store but all bars seemed to contain them. Thanks for your help.

Eh, you can make some?

8 tbsp honey (1/2 cup)
1 1/4 cup whey protein (I use vanilla cuz it's what I got)
1 cup uncooked oatmeal (rolled oats, for those in doubt)
1 cup natty pb

Anyone know something he can sub in for the pb?

I personally use Venom's protein bar recipe. However, their are protein bars on the market that don't contain nuts.

Venom's protein bars:
I have been testing around with this. They definitely can be helpful when traveling, etc.

Still working on a perfect formula, but I came up with a good one, without honey! Here is what I did:

2 tablespoons of natty peanut butter
½ cup of oatmeal
60 grams of whey
a little over ¼ a cup of water
Mix
Smooth out in a saucer pan
Refrigerate
Eat!

Tastes excellent to me, and without all the sugars like fructose. Stuck together rather nicely. Going to slice them up, toss them in a bag, and bring um with me the next time I go out.

Also, I heat up the PB for 30 seconds first. I add some cinnamon at the end too.

And I have not yet, but if you have problems with it sticking, just add more whey, PB, oatmeal, one or a combination of them, or less water, to see what works for you. Might want to add the water slowly, mix, and see how the texture is before you add more.

That recipe looks **** good. Could maybe JHI or Venom say how many bars that will make? thanks.

The one JHI posted looks like a single-serving. The one I posted makes 8-12 depending on how you cut the bars once you've spread them into a pan.

I will say, they're pretty tasty /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone have any names of bars that don't contain nuts? I found a Biochem Ultimate protein bar that I think doesn't contain anything. Has anyone tried it before?

i have tried a lot of bar in my day. after a while i came to the conclusion that they were all a waste. whether they had nuts or not. if you want a great, nutritious snack or meal on the go just have whey and oats or make the bars as suggested above.
