aerobic excercise is crucial to losing body fat, but it should be atleast 8 hours before or after your weight lifting exercises, otherwise you will begin to lose muscle (muscle suicide)

Over a year ago, I dropped 30 pounds. My method was to hit the treadmill vigorously and perform maintenance lifting. I went from 230 to 200. I am now in a muscle building phase where I am developing definition. I follow some of the workouts that I have found on this site. I make sure that I push myself in each session. I still hit the treadmill as a maintenence measure.

Good luck in your quest.

Can someone tell me where I can learn more about this? Over the last few years I've been doing cardio either right before (when I'm more focused on cutting) or right after lifting, primarily 'cause I have no other time that I can do it. And I've been pretty satisfied with my progress. Granted, I haven't been trying to bulk up dramatically over that time, but I have made good gains.
