View Full Version : knee injury... should i do legs?
So I injured my knee a while ago and last week I tried doing legs because it seemed to be fine but now the injury has come back with a vengeance /forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I was wondering if I should do stuff like stiff legged deadlifts and good mornings? (Those are the only 2 exercises I can think of right now, which do not involve bending of the knees.)
Or should I not workout legs at all for a while?
Btw I have patella tendonitis

I would go and get that knee checked out and stay away from any exercises using your knees.

What kind of injury was this? And where is the pain in your knee? I would tell you to get a doctor to look at this too.

Do not "work" through injuries!
Simply stop doing any weight bearing exercises for legs.
If you have health insurance, have your Doctor prescribe you some PT. They can teach you some rehab exercises, along with proper form. It is imperative, for a long bbing career, that you stay injury free. This entails, not working through injuries, which will only make them chronic, and learning proper form.

Just go to the doctor first. When doing calves, you may put pressure on your knees especially when doing standing clf raises.

OldSchool's right. You need physical therapy. See a doctor. You can tell the physical therapist that you weightlift and ask for advice on which exercises (if any) you can do to help with your recovery.

I already went to the doctor when the injury first occured (about 2 months ago /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif).
Guess I will have to go again and ask about the PT

If its tendonitis, he's going to tell you to ice it and take some over the counter NSAIDs.
If you are going to train at all, I'd do only machines. Even carrying around dumbbells can keep the tendon from healing, as you have to walk with the extra weight.
Ok Old School, I'll take your advice and not train anything at all until it's completely healed. Thanks
