Okay, Im 15 years old and have been training for about a year and a half. I have been wanting to try some creatine for awhile. So Im finally going to break down and buy some. What kind and brand should I go with? Whats this about spooning it in your mouth and all this?

make sure you buy pure creatine monohydrate. none of the flavored crap with sugars and all that. i am using ON brand right now, it has the Creapure logo which means its good creatine. the spoon into your mouth technique is because creatine breaks down in water, ie if you mix in water then drink the water some of the creatine breaks down into creatinine. spooning the creatine directly limits the creatines exposure to water so you get more.

Okay...so I should just spoon it in my mouth and drink afterwards? What about this tri-creatine crap?

"I have been wanting to try some creatine for awhile. So Im finally going to break down and buy some. What kind and brand should I go with"

If you're going to supplement creatine make sure you read/understand how to supplement it correctly and effectivley. As for what creatine to purchase, any pure creatine monohydrate will suffice.

"Whats this about spooning it in your mouth and all this?"

You don't want to combine your Creatine with anything, including water. Rather, scoop the Creatine directly into your mouth and swallow it with water. Why you ask? Well, Creatine is unstable in water and will turn into creatinine (Creatine's waste product)

I don’t recommend mixing the creatine directly into the shake. Simply spoon it into your mouth and drink it down with your shake.

CREATINE SUPPLEMENTATION TIPS

<ul type="square"> Make sure it has the creapure logo tatooed on it. That gurantees quality. Creapure - A process that was developed in Germany for yeilding the highest quality creatine current available.

Make sure you load it ( this will saturate your muscles with creatine ) The loading phaze should consist of 20-25 grams a day spread throughout the day in 4-5 servings for 5 days.

After the loading phaze you should maintain with 5-10g a day.

When maintaining, on workout days consume 5 grams in the morning and 5 grams post-workout. On non-workout days consume 5 grams in the morning.

Drink plenty of water. Take you bodyweight ( lbs ) x 0.66 and that's how much water you should be consuming a day ( ounces ) Remember, this does not include shakes.

Simply spoon it into your mouth and drink it down with some water.[/list]

This is the most important point. I see so many posts about people buying products that they have no clue how they work or how to use them.

You made one right step by asking which one to buy and how to take it but do yourself a favour and read more about how it works before you buy it. You will find good information in the creatine sticky.
