OK, how do some women look so fabulous when the are working out??

OK, I have to bring this up! I just can't understand it. I can not understand how some girls look so great working out. Me, I have my hair tied up in some sort of nest and if I am with it that day my shirt might match my pants. Am I alone when I say that my time at the gym is my most beautiful moments? lol

it does seem that some girls look nice, but they probably don't think they look nice. all in our perception. unless you are talking about the girls who show up like they are at a bar...

I wear cut-off sweats, shorts with holes, tees with holes, sports bras with pit stains that are getting old, my hair up as much as I can get it, and some socks and running shoes. I sweat my butt off most days. If I look "good" while working out, then something is wrong.

I can't stand those girls that come in with make up on, tight "look at me" work out clothes, and their hair made to look like they're working hard. Drives me nuts.

Well, I would like to think I look somewhat decent when I first ARRIVE at the gym but I tend to be a sweater so after 2-2 1/2 hrs..well I look like hell and you could literally wring me out and I would drip..we have one lady who comes in the gym daily and her hair is fixed to the nines and she wears matching gym "outfits" complete with leg warmers LMAO!!!Can we say 80's..hee hee.anyway she comes in climbs on the bike then goes and plays at lifting..can we say in a yrs time I have seen not one iota of difference in her body.Oh, and what's up with these women who insist on wearing FULL FACE while working out..how stupid and bad for your skin is that!!!

I agree with Soccerchick in that those girls who seem to look so nice probably don't think they look all that great.
Although it can be frustrating to see someone prancing around the gym when you're wiping sweat from your eyes.

Gee, I feel sorry for the guy who was walking on the treadmill next to me. Once I start moving I get drenched and those beads of sweat are flying off of me.

Well, hate me but I know I look beautiful while working out. Sweaty, sometimes hair out of place, baggy clothes, etc. Why? Because I am strong, focused and nothing gets in my way.

As a side note...I used to be one of those hateful girls on tight matching leotards...until I started lifting seriously and became a real woman.

You hit it right on target! It seems we girls on this site are a different "breed" of female, more physical than average. I think THAT is beautiful.

Alright I think I take the prize here for looking like the biggest DORK at the gym. For one thing....I don't look my age. I look like a little kid - cause I'm short and my frame is very small.
My hair is usually in a pony tail. I tie a bandana around my head which ends up having excess fabric on the sides cause my head is small.
After a good cadio session, my cheeks are flushed pink. I don't sweat profusly or anything. I usually wear t-shirts, tanks and strecth pants that have minimal flare at the bottom.
I don't understand why some girls apply makeup before heading into the gym. I've seen some girls appplying makeup in the ladies room.
All the trainers always smile at me cause I'm a regular there....yeah a regular DORK! He he he...just my 2 cents on this matter.

Now imagine after some good cardio, you wipe the sweat away off of your face, now the mascara and eye liner has ran and any other make up would be streaked across your face... yep that sounds very sexy!

Ok, OK, I have to add my .02... I usually go to the gym after work, so yep I have makeup on and you bet your butt I wear "tight" clothes, usually a sports bra and some shorts, maybe a tank over the SB...am I there to "look pretty" HELL NO! I work my butt off in the gym. My makeup doesn't run because I am smart enough to buy the right kind(Clinique superfit and waterproof mascara ). On occasion I wear low cut tight shorts with a tight tank top. I like to SEE my muscles working when I am lifting, helps with the whole mind to muscle thing.

I don't try to look bad or "good", I don't wear makeup if I haven't already applied it for the day - - and I usually workout early so I usually haven't. I just look "regular".

I mostly workout w/ other women so it isn't like it matters anyway. I did buy some really cute workout gloves and now EVERYONE else has the exact same gloves. I started something! LOL! (It is a tennis club for pete's sake.) I use it as my gym b/c it is much nicer than going to a "meat market' like Gold's. I don't even play tennis.

If you wanna see what I look like workin' out, it is in my pics.....my dh took a couple of shots of me when we were in Gulf Shores last May. That is pretty standard normal attire and appearance for me. And I make funny faces when I lift also!!

I don't have a good name for girls who lift hard and heavy in the gym. We used to ALWAYS see N.A.D.S., Shredder, and Ham Sweep Girl, but they were specific examples. I think there are so few that we used to assign them specific names, whereas the Bench Monkey population is so high that you're lucky to tell a Pike from a Gamma if they don't wear their hats.

Of course, seeing guys in a college gym who actually lift hard and heavy is also pretty rare. I know it isn't funny or anything, but I think of ALL the people who lift heavy and work hard as Franco Monkeys. I guess in some ways the Franco Monkey designation is kinf of gender neutral. And in my case, largely sexless. *ba-dum-ching!*
