Leg Extensions: 10 on 10
85x10
85x10
85x10
85x10
75x10
60x10
50x10
50x10
50x10
50x10
My quads were throbbing. I'd definitely recommend this method. Just do 10 sets of 10 with 30 seconds of rest between sets.

So this is considered one complete quad workout?

No, just one exercise in your workout.

Its a great shock technique! /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

...Tuf you're crazy.

Can't wait to try these once my leg heals from injury, which is another two long weeks. I've missed working out my legs so much.

Do you do this at the begining of the leg workout or as a finisher with lighter weight? A typical leg workout would include the following:
Squats
Lunges
Leg Curls
Leg Extensions
Calf Raises

Great suggestion! I occasionally do 10x10's whenever I need a good change in my routine.

Sometimes I'll pick a fairly heavy weight where the 7th and above reps are pretty tough and I'll make myself use the same weight for all 10 sets, even if it means rest-pausing and a little cheating to get all 10 reps in each set! Now THAT hurts! /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

is the starting weight where you would fail at 10 reps?

You don't have to SC, by the end of the set you'll be dying either way. Just try to get close to failure.

I did these for standing reverse grip cable curls! Great pump/burn! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Edit: Did them again for cable upright rows! This is soooo my new favorite shock technique. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ummm... I know I'm new here and haven't earned my rights on the forum yet, but isnt that a textbook case of overtraining. Sure, your blood will be pumping and the lactic acid burn will be more concentrated than stomach acid, but that doesnt mean it's doing any good. At what point do you think your body would switch from burning glycogen as energy to burning the very muscle tissue you are trying to develop? I'd say around the fourth set. I could just imagine how horrible the car ride home would feel as well.
