We as bodybuilders or wanna be bodybuilders must utilize every possible weapon in our arsenal. Many shun the sport of power lifting, Olympic power lifting and especially the strong men sports. We can learn a lot from these people, especially the strong men, they may seem ridiculous dragging big rigs and lifting Atlas stones but they have a lot to teach us.

This week’s lesson is the Farmers Walk. Now this may seem like a manmade thing to do. Who would walk around with weight like an idiot? Who… You should! This week will not just be a simple Farmers Walk but it will have a twist! Are you ready! Every 5 to 10 steps you will do a Lunge and on the bottom of the Lunge you will Shrug the weight up and then continue walking at a steady pace and repeat. While walking with the dumbbells in hand you will allow the weight to stretch you trap muscles, do not fight the stretch! By the end of the walk you should not be able to hold the weight at all. GO TILL FAILURE!!! The time that it takes to reach the failure will depend on the person, for me personally it took about 3 min and just under two laps around the gym track.

Good luck and have fun! Remember to be the best you must use unorthodox training method to hit your body hard. Look around in other power sports at what people are doing and adopt it to meet your own needs.

P.S. Hope one of the MODs puts this up as a sticky... /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Farmer's Walks are fun, but I much prefer deadlifts/ Oly lifts as grip work. Try some high-rep oly lifts - your forearms will have a pump like never before! /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I got this this small gym on Victoria Rark, Cresent Town. Where in T.O. do you workout?

When I did this today, it wasn't as a part of my forearm workout that was on friday. I just couldn't resist the temptation of trying something new. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif It was very painful do deallifts after that, my grip kept giving out.

Well a swift is a bit light. Put 4 big powerlifters into it, if they can fit, if not as many as possible. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I live in Markham, Boka, so I too go to this small gym by 16th Ave (Rutherford to you) and Leslie. I hate paying for Premier and Goodlife prices, those *******s!

I know what you are saying. I went to one of those one time. The one on Victoria Park and Danforth, and I spend my entire time in the free weight section. Didn't touch one machine. I ain't payin dat much just to use free weights. /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
