Thanks for the comments, i will look forward to sharing info with you all. I,m 6 foot 257 pounds currently. arms are 20 inches 55 chest and 28.5 thighs. Deads are 620 or more, squats around 620, and bench 440. Genetics no, i started out at 6 foot 145 or so. Just real hard work and total dedication, never missing many workouts. i,m 33 years old. It's taken 15 years to get here, still trying to get bigger. Post some of my workouts this weekend.

I have to say if you're natural then it gives me hope that maybe one day I will be able to get as big as I've always wanted to be. It seems like too many times it gets shoved down your throat that anyone with any decent size must be using gear. So great job! I look forward to reading about your training.

I felt just like kenji, people always say "the only way you can get big is to use roids", it was a really big punch in the face, you have changed my mind. You are my new best friend! What supplements are you taking? Drink a lot of water

Well my workouts are nothing real fancy, but there are plenty of things I have learned about putting on size. I basically work only 1 major bodypart a day, or 2 small ones. I lift 5 days a week, sometimes 6. Also I hit each bodypart once a week.

Now the way I train is as follows, heavy, heavy, heavy. I train to total failure( cannot do another rep by myself) everyone has different view points of failure and that's mine. I use different methods of going heavy, some days real strict and others a bit of controlled cheating. For instance heavy curl day I will do straight bar standing curls up to 200 pounds, with a bit of slight swinging to help get them last reps out. Now strict heavy day, the same thing except 145super slow and strict.Iusually only use this method on arms
or back to get that extra squeeze. this method helps you get the best of both worlds, power and total fatigue.

some people have light days, light days to me are weight you can handle easily or weight you do to many dam reps with. Never done them, never will. I see people doing a weight they can do 20 reps with and they wanna get big. I train between 4-10 reps on everything.
Some people to alot of warm up sets, I do 1. For instance deadlifts I warm up at 405 for 6 reps or so, then right to 555 - 4 or 5 reps. Now I don't advise that for everyone, always warm up and do what's comfortable for you. One set of fairly moderate heavy weights does the trick for me. Big tip I learned over the years is to rest plenty in between heavy exercises specially deads, squats, and bench. I rest sometimes over 6-8 minutes or more on these exercises. It also depends on your body type, skinny people need to rest this long in between sets. If your trying to lose weightI don't advise it, my workouts revolve around gaining mass. I'm not into getting bulked and then cutting. I'm always bulking which has helped me get to where i am instead of always cutting and bulking. I don't compete or care to so that's why I don't cut.
People ask why I don't compete, well I guess because it does nothing for me to put it simple. my buddy's do it and I love to watch, man it gets me pumped. My thing is I don't care if I get first place, means nothing to me. What does mean something is when I do a personal best in a lift or get that extra quarter inch on my measurments. that's really all I care about, but competing is good fun and great way to push yourself also. Now these workouts get switched around, especially the exercise order and which ones i do but here is a sample.

MONDAY-CHEST. BENCH WARM UP 225 FOR 10. 340-8 360-5
SOMETIMES A 3RD SET AT 370.
INCLINES DUMBELL OR BARBELL 4-10 REPS OF 2 SETS TO FAILURE(140'S ON DUMBELLS FOR 4-5 REPS)
FLYES OR DECLINES FOR MY LAST EXERCISE, 2-3 SETS HEAVY AND REALLY SQUEEZING THE MUSCLES AT CONTRACTION 6-10 REPS. SOMETIMES i USE THE POWERLIFTING THICK RUBBER BANDS AROUND A POLE AND SQUEEZE THE HELL OUT OF MY CHEST(KINDA LIKE PEC DECK BUT BETTER CONTRACTIONS). bASICALLY I PUT MY BACK AGAINST THE BEAM AND WRAP THE BANDS AROUND THE POLE AND SQUEEZE THEM LIKE A PEC DECK. TRY THEM ONCE, BURNS LIKE HELL. oKAY THAT'S IT FOR MONDAY

TUESDAY-BACK. DEADLIFTS I DO EVERY OTHER WEEK.
DEADS SUMO STYLE ALWAYS, BETTER ON MY LOWER BACK.
1 WARM UP AT 405 FOR AROUND 6 REPS ER SO, THEN 555-4-5 REPS.(1 SET ONLY USUALLY) ALL YOU NEED.
LAT PULLDOWNS 300-320 FOR 6-10 REPS, OR PULL UPS REAL SLOW.
SEATED ROWS-340-10 360-6 2 SETS.
V GRIP PULLDOWNS - 2 SETS OF 290-300 USUALLY FOR 6-8 REPS.

WEDNESDAY-ARMS.
SEATED ALTERNATE CURLS OR BARBELL CURLS FOR FIRST SET.
SEATED DUMBELLS 80-95 POUNDS FOR 6-10 REPS 2 SETS, STANDING BARBELL CURLS UP TO 200 FOR 4-5 WITH SOME SWING ON NON SRTICT DAY(CAREFUL THOUGH CAUSE IT'S CONTROLLED) TO MUCH SWING WILL NOT WORK YOUR BI'S AND WRECK YOUR BACK.
PREACHER CURLS 120-160 FOR 2 SETS 4-10 REPS.
HAMMER CURLS OR CONCENTRATIONS CURLS 4-10 REPS FOR 2 SETS.

TRICEPTS-CLOSEGRIP 2 SETS OF 6-10 REPS.
OR SKULL CRUSHERS INSTEAD.
DIPS WITH 120 POUNDS ADDED, 6-10 2 SETS.
OVERHEAD EXTENSIONS 6-8 FOR 2 SETS.

THURSDAY-LEGS
SQUATS-2 HEAVY WORKING SETS TO TOTAL FAILURE(YEP THAT'S IT)
1 WARM UP AT 315-8
1 SET AT 510 FOR 9-10 REPS
1 SET AT 530 OR 540 FOR 5 OR 6 REPS.
LUNGES-HEAVY AT 100 POUND DUMBELLS FOR 6-10 REPS 2 SETS.
oNE LEG SQUATS WITH DUMBELLS 2 SETS OF 6-10 SETS OR LEG EXTENSIONS.
SOMETIMES LEG PRESSES SUPER HEAVY 2 SETS.

FRIDAY-SHOULDERS
SHOULDER PRESSES 250-5 REPS 2 SETS.
LATERAL RAISES 2 SETS OF 6-10 AT AROUND 65 POUND DUMBELLS EACH.
FRONT RAISES 130-6 2 SETS.
SOMETIMES UPRIGHT ROWS INSTEAD.
TRAPS-SHRUGS(BARBELL) UP TO 600 POUNDS FOR 6-8 REPS 2 SETS.
I WILL ADMIT I RARELY DO THEM CONSISTENTLY, UNTIL RECENTLY.

THROW CALVES IN SOMEWHERE ALSO. 4 SETS HEAVY 6-12 REPS.
HAMSTRINGS-SOMEWHERE THROWN IN ALSO BUT NOT CONSISTENTLY.
STIFF LEGGED FOR 4 SETS OF 6-10.

I found that limiting the sets and concentrating on heavy weights with total muscle failure is number 1 key to gaining size. I sometimes puke after workouts, get the hell in there and go for it.
you should feel almost sick after just one set of heavy deads or squats if your doing it right. This is what's worked for me guy's, everyonesdifferent and have there way of doing things. Treat each workout like it your last and you wont be sorry. my diet is eat eat eat eat. I don't count calories, I just get six full meals a day in. I make sure I get at least 50-60 grams of protein in each meal no matter what. I take creatine, glutamine, and protein powders along with multi vitamins. I eat moderate amounts of fat, never drink pop or eat sweets hardly ever. I love steaks, lean burgers, fish, cottage cheese, peanut butter, milk, chicken, pasta's,malto meal. the number one thing thought that's helped me gain over 100 pounds naturally as much as anything TOTAL CONSISTENCY. HOPE THIS HELPS, CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE. Being natural just takes time and hard work. People that don't know me who say yep he's got some size so he must be on drugs, makes me feel good actually. When i look in the mirror I feel small, i say dam i need to grow. That is what keeps us growing.

Wow, crazyman you are an inspiration to us all. I am surprised at the low volume of your workouts, but it obviously works for you. I have a few more questions for you. How long do your workouts take usually? Also, do you cycle creatine or just stay on it constantly? Do you ever do cardio? Thanks.

crazyman
06-21-2003, 01:35 PM
I'm just glad to help! my volume seems low but it's so intense my body cant take any more sets. I use to go high, when i switched to fewer sets and more intensity bam I shot up big time. It's not how many sets you do, it's how you do them. my workouts take around an hour for most bodyparts. smaller ones like arms take less of course. No i try to stay on creatine year round. I only take 5 grams a day though, figure since im on it year round no need to go hog wild. I take effervescent creatine cause the regular crap makes my gut upset. Cardio, none. If I do cardio I lose weight, and that makes me sad. my workouts are cardio enough. If your thin and trying to gain mass, don't do cardio period.

ya I gained around 10-15 pounds right away, then just tried for around ten pounds a year after the first year or 2. I weighed about 140 in that pic in 1987. I weighed 200 in 1992, 222 in 1995, 243 1998, and 257 currently. So it's gotten alot harder, but that's how it's suppose to be.

It's good to get people to realize you can put some good size on naturally. Most people just jump ship from being natural because they want everything now. I will never be as big as I would if i used gear, But i'm okay with that. Just a good word of advice, if you wanna be natural don't hope to look like top guys who are not. you dont need great genetics to put descent size on naturally, it's just much harder and longer work. Now if you wanna be a freak like the top pro's, forget it cause it isnt happening naturally. Have you ever stood next to a top pro, I stood and talked to paul dillet at a show one time(holy f-ck) There was about 6 guys behind me that were all way bigger than me and they all craped there pants. If you never seen these guys up close in real life (in shape) prepare yourself cause the mags do no justice. My favorite bodybuilder natural bodybuilder is skip, my favorite non is ronnie.

I was at the Conneticut Bodybuilding Championships and Dorian Yates was the guest poser. Holy chemically induced body Batman!!! He was freaking huge!!! His legs were bigger than my waist. His back you could have shown and IMAX movie on it. Flex Wheeler guest posed at that show the year before and he is big but Dorian! Wow he was the largest human being that was not morbidly obese that I had ever seen. My mouth dropped when he walked by me. I think I got bigger just being that close to that much juice /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
But you are so right Crazy, I like Skips body too. If you look at some of the INBF natural pros some of those guys are big not freaks. But they look good and are ripped. /forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Seriously impressive, and for the first time I believe someone that has achieved the results they claim naturally. The reason is the natural progression and timeline in which you presented it, makes it very believable. I hate saying this because there have been many a debate on this subject on here, but your size and workouts give some presidence to Max-OT training, other than the fact that you go beyond 6 reps to 10, but your training seems very similar and you have stated how similar it is to Skip La Cour's. So am I wrong in saying maybe there was more to that style of training than most gave it, or maybe with just a bit of tweeking could be awesome. Anyways, Crazyman glad to have you on board. I also would like to congratulate you on your dedication, most of us would love to say we could have been so patient and dedicated for such a long time, but only time will tell.

crazyman
07-02-2003, 08:39 AM
Exactly why I came on board to this site, to help people realize it doesnt happen over night. It's all about progressing each and every year. Setbacks or not getting results for long periods of time are real tough to deal with sometimes. It's what you do about it that seperates you from getting better every year. I have sat in my bed at night dam near in tears cause I just couldnt get anywhere and thought what the f-ck am I doing this for. Anyone thats trained long enough has been there. Then you sit back and say hell start doing more sets and blah blah blah. That's where most people go wrong, increase the intensity(not sets) and make yourself grow. Eat all your meals, and dont skip workouts.

I train 4-10 reps, but mostly in the 4-7 rep range. You have to go in to training naturally with a big long time table, otherwise you will be very unhappy most of the time. There is alot of people who do like to bullsh-t and say there natural or now there natural er whatever. My theory is why is it such a big deal for some guys to admit that they use drugs, who cares. I dont give a flying f-ck if my best friend uses it, that's his choice. Some people have a hard time believing that me or any body else with any descent muscle mass is on drugs. The reason is this, Not many people train there *** off for this long off a time that's been natural the whole time. then when you tell them how long you been lifting there like holy sh-t. I'm just glad to help man, thanks for the statement.

Dude, you are an inspiration to natural bodybuilders out there. You have good size and shape which is a hell of a lot harder to do naturally. I know that I will never be a huge beast but hey I am proud of what I have done so far. I think many people who would be surprised if they saw just how big, hard and ripped you can be natural. Yea it takes more time but it's a hell of a lot cheaper and safer. I like
have my hair, keeping my testicles for shrinking to size of grapes. And of course not having man-boobs! I suggest that people take at peak at Natural Physique magazine. I didn't mean it to be taken as if I don't believe anyone who has achieved mediocre or believable results(15-18" arms). I meant it for someone of Crazyman's stature, 6' 257lbs with 20" arms, naturally. If you came on the boards, at 6'5" and were 300lbs of natural muscle, it would be hard to believe. The way that Crazyman laid out his roadmap to where he currently is, was very believable. I mean realistically when anyone sees someone like Crazyman they think 'roids' ,even Crazyman himself said he takes it as a compliment. So "outrageous" or not, it was meant to be taken as a compliment by Crazyman, not a strike on anyone who is also achieving their goals naturally. So sorry if that's the way you took it.
