I use my legs to gauge my progress as they are the leanest part of me (legs and forearms that is). I have been using slow cadence weight lifting for 7 months (low carbing, at a reasonable level of 30-50 daily, for 2 months which will be a lifetime program for me due to PCOS). So, I don't have the glorious photos most have, but I think these show my progress /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you :-) I know that many here are naturally thin (just how it is), but I've always been large. But with the metabolic disorder now in check, I have so much more energy than I did and have a chance against the insulin resistance! I've always been focused on my brain rather than my body (required in grad school I guess LOL), but I am really enjoying the new balance in my life. I have a lot of naturally dense and defined muscles, so God must have meant for me to lift weights (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!).

I guess we all get something in the mighty "good parts" handout - I got definition (now I have to get through to lean part of me, the part I didn't get in the "good parts" handout to find it all! LOL).

I do appreciate it - I workout in a home gym so rarely see anyone who also does weight lifting. It's nice to hear some positives /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Very nice progress. You'll enjoy this site and welcome.

One comment though...30-50 gm/day carbs is not "moderate".
Definitely low, low, low. But if it works...great!

Congrats, keep us updated.

TCW, it is moderate for a low carber (LOL), not relative to how most in the U.S. eat (especially those using high carb with fitness training). Everything is relative :-) So for me, it is moderate (and given my PCOS, a necessary part of the treatment).

Thanks for the welcome :-)

SlowBurner,

Excellent progress! I am sure that took work and dedication, which I can appreciate! Way to go!

I got some creatine today, I've never tried it (and I'm going to down 1/2 order of steamed hashbrowns before my workout tonight too, low carbing does make lifting a lot tougher since you end up pulling energy from storage - that's a long route! LOL).

enderwigginout - I got them at Macy's (I thought those were just too cool and I wear a lot of blue jean skirts so they work well with those ... it wigs men out when I wear shoes like that, since I'm 6' tall in them, but hey, sometimes it's fun being that tall whether they like it or not ... just have to find a man who is 6'4" true? :-)
