Ok, finally got around to taking some photos and would welcome any comments/critique. I did start a journal around 2 months ago - ah well, the best laid plans etc etc,.....will try to motivate myself to keep it up to date from here on in.......just haven't been on the 'puter all that much lately.
Have been concentrating on improving my efforts at cardio during the last few weeks (tend to be a bit lazy at doing regular cardio recently)...but after noticing my b/f increasing, I have been doing 3 x 1hr sessions of cardio per week, and will endeavour to keep it up!!!!!

Geez girl, you ROCK!! What took you so long to post those pics?! You look fabulous! GREAT abs! Gosh, what's to improve?! Strong, fit and athletic looking, and beautiful, what more can ya ask for?!
What more would you like to do? What are your goals? Also, what are your stats? You look tall. You're lucky too cause you've got those broad shoulders. I've got to work my butt off for my shoulders cause they're so narrow (along with my hips).
And only 12 posts so far? What's up with that? /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks honey!!!!!
Stats:
Height - 5'3" (not tall...wouldn't mind being a few inches taller, I think my legs are too short from the ankle to the knee)
Weight - 52 kg's, not sure what that is in pounds??? Around 110 maybe???
My goals, well when I started out training around 18 months ago, my main goal was to increase strength and muscle tone - I weighed in at around 46/47 kg's (The photo of me in the black dress was taken around the same time I began weight training) and even though I had quite good tone, I always felt kinda "skinny" and wanted to look more athletic, rather than waif like!!!! I want to look put on a bit more mass, and keep improving my strength, though I don't want to get too 'big'......and would like to get my b/f back down. (It was at 13%, but I think it's now more like 16%????)
Only 12 posts........hehehehe........I tend to browse a lot nore than post:)
Wow, I guess the pics really threw me off, I'd guessed you to be taller than me. It seems like those with broader shoulders are also tall, perhaps not! Also, even your legs look longer than mine. Of course my legs ARE short, in actuality I have a long torso and short legs plus with them being so thick it makes them look even shorter! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/bawling.gif
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you have the ideal body, broad shoulders & long legs, a body many women would love to have! And you already looked great to begin with, even BEFORE the weight training! I wouldn't even worry about your bodyfat, I think you look great right where you're at. If more muscle mass is really what you desire, then I would recommend a clean bulk. If you keep your diet very clean and just increase the cals slowly, you should be able to put on some decent muscle mass with very minimal fat gain. I was able to hold right around 18% for the short time period I tried bulking. I'm sure you would do fine at it. If you need any help let me know. /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey, I had a look at your photos - you look FANTASTIC!!!! You don't look short, you look very much in proportion all over, great work gal!!!! How long have you been training for???
Me have the ideal body??? Far from it - I too, like every other female on this planet has her pet dislikes when it comes to her own body. I have my "fat" days where I feel totally *EWWWWWWWW*, I think that my butt is too big, my legs too short, and my stomach not flat enough.........*L*
A clean bulk - when it comes to nutrition I am pretty much trying to stick to a high protien/low fat diet, so I would appreciate any advice on how to go about starting on a clean bulk. (I try to read up as much as I can when it comes to nutrition, but would appreciate any help/advice/suggestions)

Thank you!:)
Here is my ab routine:
Vertical Bench Crunches (with ankle weights)
4 x 12-15
Incline Board Leg Raises (with ankle weights)
4 x 12-15
Crunches
4 x 12-15
Crunches on Swiss Ball
4 x 20
I usually select 2 of these exercises per day for my abs - I do abs every day (Mon to Fri) - not sure if I should be doing this as I have had conflicting advice about whether or not to train abs every day.
maybe its just the pics, but if i had to advise for anything to be worked harder , it would be the quads, they seem smoother than the rest of your body. great abs, calves and back. might wanna try getting some clearer/closer pics.

Yes I agree, do need to do some more work on quads - am looking at throwing some more exercises in on 'leg' day to help me along.
Thank you for your comments!!!:)

Your body looks great right now, you have obviously worked hard. I noticed you kind of slacked on the journal, I was curious as to what kind of weights you are throwing around. I have noticed that women have a tendency to never realize their potential in terms of strength, as they lift what feels like it is enough, and is truly not enough to cause positive failure within 10-12 reps. I think for awesome results you should try raising the weight, if you are not already, and going a little heavier. Only critique I would have is your legs, a little more mass will give you a more muscular look and you won't feel like a waif anymore. Keep it up!!! Oh yeah most impressive was your calves, awesome.

Those pics are awesome! You look like you have worked really hard to get those results, and I want to encourage you to keep going! You are an encouragement to those of us who think our goals are somewhat unacheivable.
THANKS!

Ahhh, the journal was unfortunately not one of my successes, though I did start out with all the best intentions. I will endeavour to start it up again, with regular entries I think!!!!
WIth regards to weights, here are some examples of where I'm currently at:
Barbell Flat Bench Press - 37kg's (approx 80lb)
Incline Dumbell Press - 15kg (33lb) DB's
Lying Tricep Extensions - 5kg (11lb) plates (not sure of the bar weight, perhaps 5 kg's??)
Bicep Reverse Grip Pulldown - 35kg's (77lbs)
Shoulder press machine - 30 kg's (66lbs)
Inside grip front pulldowns - 35kg's (77lbs)
Seated Calf Raises - 80 kg's (176 lbs)
Seated hamstring curls - 25 kg's (55lbs)
Hack Machine Squats - 50kg's (110lbs)
I usually do my first set with a weight that I can get 8-12 reps out, then will increase the weight and do as many reps as I can before failure. I do the same for sets 3 & 4, then drop the weight for set 5 to failure.

Good deal, as long as you are causing positive failure within 8-12 reps. I have just noticed that most women will shy away from lifting heavy as they are truly able. You are having good results because you are doing just that. Keep it up, and good luck, I am not good at keeping a journal either, to each their own I guess.

To be honest, I haven't really had to bother doing much work on my calves at all. I used to do a lot of skating/blading as a teenager and they were quite well developed back then. All I do for them now is a few calf raises now and then. Good luck on the "8 weeks to bigger calves" program!!!!!!!!:)

OOH LA LA!!!!!
A personal best for me today!!!!! Bench pressed 40 kg's (88 lbs) - approx 11 kg's less than my bodyweight!!!!!!! I set myself 40kg's as a target goal back awhile ago - now I have set 50 kg's as my new target *l* - I'll think of it as just another 5 kg plate either side hahahahaha!!!!
