OK, after reading others here I decided to go ahead and start the thread so I can remain accountable /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif I leave Friday for ~7 days of skiing and will 'officially' start when I return.

History: I am 39, 6'2" and weigh ~251. Bodyfat percentage is ~11% (mebbe I should be on a cut /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif ). I've competed in the past (last time was ~6 years ago) and did ok for a natural in a novice show. This is a pic of me from way back then: I weighed ~228 in this one (http://members.aol.com/texasmusl/bodybuilding/allen1.jpg) I plan to compete again this coming year - late summer/early fall in a master's show. Maybe Houston or Dallas. I'll be bulking up until June or so, depending on which show I do.

I began training and eating big a couple weeks ago after taking a lot of the fall off trying to heal some injuries from softball/volleyball (didn't help /forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) . I weighed 243 when I started and since then gained 12 lbs around Christmas week (too much water). I have since dropped a few pounds (laid off the danish butter cookies /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif ).

See you guys in a couple weeks - I can't wait /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

yuck is all I can say after gaining 2 pounds after a week of skiing - I shoulda lost weight, but I guess I am holding too much water again /forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif I don't feel real healthy at this weight (allergies are acting up), so I think I am gonna switch to a 'cut' for the contest... /forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I am definitely carrying too much gut for my comfort level, so I am gonna try the Arnold method for getting ready for bodybuilding shows by dieting down and building muscle up to the day of the show. I am afraid if I try to 'bulk' that bf measurement in the abd is only gonna get worse, and that ain't cool.

I am a bit late, but will 'officially' begin on Monday. My goals for this will be to add 8-12 lbs of muscle in the next 12 weeks (doable due to muscle memory /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif ), and lose 12-14 lbs of bf at the same time. Each individually should be attainable, but together will be definitely more difficult /forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif I'll post workouts and diet (and mebbe some pics) when I begin.

Wish me luck! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
