Margie ~ a VERY BIG THANKYOU for all the advice you have given in your journal - to me especially!!!

After cycling my carbs [on your advice] I came in on my BF test at 15.2% ~ I am over the moon ~ I have the most WONDERFUL definition in my quads that I could have ever imagined ~ and have had compliments from MEN in my gym ~ it's amazing....

Have been doing those box squats [Jeeze - what pain they give] and have also influenced my training partner into doing them too ~ he says I'm a slave driver - but I just say to him: 'blame Margie'!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just as a matter of interest to any ladies out there who are interested in squats ~ I started out in Feb of this year doing squats with a 10kg BB, now I can squat a total of 55Kgs ~ I weigh slightly less than 50Kgs, [plus the bar, which weighs 25kgs]~ it just shows that if you really WANT to do it ~ you can, just keep on at it and it'll come.

Have also been doing the DL's with the slight forward movement at the lower end of the lift ~ bloody hell ~ this makes one heck of a difference ~ talk about having the shakes ~ WOW...

Anyway Margie ~ have a lovely Xmas ~ I wish all the very best on your goal of 6% ~ and ~ DON'T stop with your journal,

see ya ~ Destinado

Hey ~ KA, you must have quads that look similar to mine ~ as you came in at 16.8% ~ so, you gotta post some photo's toooooooo ~ I mean, we are talking about maybe 1lb ~ 1.5lb in BW here ~ u know what I mean.......

So KA ~ c'mon tell us, are you gonna post....
What do you squat ~ I have been reading your journal as well as Margie's ~ I have the utmost respect for you and I appreciate what you have been going thru re; yr cut ~ as in you are 'starving' most of the time ~ let me tell you ~ I can identify with that ~ protein doesn't 'fill' you like carbs or fat and I think you have to have a whole lot of 'willpower' to get you thru the day... know what I mean?..

My next 'quest' is: can I maintain this BF% throughout the Xmas period ~ I don't think so ~ jeeze I am soooooooo weak, but after all ~ it IS Xmas ~ do we deserve a break??????

Merry Xmas ~ Destinado

Maybe, but I already have pics. Just click on the link in my signature. Those were taken in July and I was at 15% body fat then. It's REALLY difficult though to capture my quad definition, unfortunately. I can see all 3 quad heads if the light is just right, AND I flex just right (which I'm not too good at). I love it when I happen to see quad separation! /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I probably won't get any more photos taken now til this summer. I'm thinking I'll just do photos once a year.

I actually have no idea what my max squat is. I don't even weight train my legs anymore. I only did it for a short time cause I quickly discovered it was negatively affecting my speed skating. So now besides skating, all I do for legs is skating exercises using only my bodyweight.

Well thank you! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif I haven't been starving anymore though. I went back to just maintaining since September. So I eat pretty clean most of the time and I let my appetite dictate my caloric intake. At first I went up to 18% body fat from 15% but here recently I got back down to 16.8% without even trying, and gained more muscle as well, without trying. It's crazy.

Well I'm doing it, taking a break that is. I'm going to be visiting family all next week and whenever I do that, it's impossible to stay on my diet regimin cause they don't eat the way I do and I'm not gonna make them grocery shop for me. And yep, it's Christmas, so I'm gonna enjoy my step mother's Christmas dinner and desserts! /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif I consider it a kind of bulk. One week of pigging out then I'll go back to eating very clean and strict on the carbs and get any extra back off. It worked after we visited family back in November. We were gone for a week, I ate like crap, came back, was up to 18.5% body fat, then got back on the wagon and a month later I had gained muscle and lost fat, hence the 16.8%. So, I think a week off the diet really does do a body good sometimes! And after all, this is what we work our butts off FOR, so we CAN enjoy once in a while! /forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TOO!! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Girl, Thank you so much!!!

Hey, i appreciate all the praise, but honestly, you did this by yourself!!

I only gave you the advice, you did ALL the work!

hey now...told you about those squats!! OUCH!! I did them wide last night and followed them up w/ close stance front squats...yea baby!! talk about pain!!!!

Do keep up the hard work! It all pays off in the end.

Enjoy yourself during the holiday and get back on your plan the next day. Don't beat yourself up over it. You can't gain it all back in one day if you are not gorging yourself.

Do keep up the incredible work!! You'll be onstage before you know it!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New year and thank you again! You really made my day!!!

Margie
