I have a question for the girls (guys too of course)... I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and eat like a mad woman! I'm assuming it's because I don't get enough calories in the day. I try not to eat late (before bed), but if I don't eat late, I almost always get up and raid the fridge! I don't usually choose "unhealthy" choices, but I do grab the carbs (Wasa Crackers or wheat bread). It's the quickest thing to eat. Hmm? Anyone have any suggestions. Like maybe put a padlock on all cupboards and the refrigerator? /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm 5'4" and weigh 120-124. I exercise 5-6 days a week and do an hour of cardio each time, along with weights every other day. I'm an addict of cardio cause I love to EAT EAT EAT!!! I feel I need to kick butt on the machines in order to eat as much as I do. Does anyone else have this crazy problem? Just wondering if I'm alone here /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

P.S. Last night..... Oh boy...fat free vanilla ice cream w/ holiday M&M's!! Oops! Today is a new day though!

God will give me the strength I need and the will to survive!!!

There's nothing wrong with eating right before you go to bed as long as you make wise choices. I've been eating right before I go to bed for at least a year now. I have a protein food, fat, and either no carbohydrates or just green veggies for carbs. So, things like, eggs, tuna & mayonnaise, chicken & broccoli, etc. Those are the kinds of meals I have right before I go to bed, otherwise I have a tendency to wake up hungry as well!

And yeah, the more cardio you do, the hungrier it'll make you, at least that's how it works for me. Why are you doing so much cardio anyway? Too much cardio sends the wrong signals to the brain, tells it to burn muscle and save fat. And like I said, it makes your appetite go UP! You can control your weight/bodyfat better with DIET. DIET is the #1 way to stay lean. I know, cause I used to do the cardio out the ying yang thing too and what got me leaner was NOT cardio, but DIET and weight lifting. If you learn to control your diet, and that INCLUDES not eating TOO FEW calories, you'll be much better off than doing a bunch of cardio. Yep, been there done that, ate junk food, felt guilty, did lots of cardio. It worked to keep me from GAINING weight but it did NOT get me any leaner. And even with all the cardio I did, I noticed that over the years my bodyfat had STILL crept up (probably my weight too but I don't remember that). Cause I was at 18% bodyfat at the age of 21 but by the age of about 25, it had gone up to 22% DESPITE all the cardio I was doing. So word to the wise, eventually ya just gotta learn to control the DIET. Hope this helps. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the advice! You're so right! The reason I do cardio so much is cause I like to eat TONS of food. I know I need to control my diet, it's definately the hardest part (in my opinion). I love working out and I thank God for that! Right now my body fat is about 19%. I'd like to one day see some abs...I know they're there /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif , but I know how much dedication it takes! I will definately keep my late night meals "clean" so to speak, cause I really am getting sick of waking up to eat! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thanks a bunch!

P.S.
You rock girl!! Awesome pics!! /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
