Okay I am in FL and want to do my 1st competition. 1 1/2 years ago I weighed 215lbs @ 5'10". Today my BF is 12% and I am dying to do a competition to reward myself for all my work. I just don't know what shows are out there near me and when and where to start the whole timing of getting down to the business of really training for the actuall competition.

Well, the first thing I would do is ask people around your gym if they know about ay competitions, secondly, unless I m wrong, I think the only time you're gonna find a competition is in the summer. I would find out what competitions are around you. Then start taking photographs of yourself, and take a long hard look to see what needs work, such as check for good symmetry, then look to see if you want more size...Then after you have got how you want, go on about a 12 weeks before the competition, start getting a tan, and start cutting...once you are shredded and feel you are ready, go for it....Also, I would suggest if you arent already, start working on posing for atleast an hour everyday, then after about a month of that, continue doing it but pick your best poses, and make a routine, and remember transitions from one pose to another pose is just as important as the posing itself...And look for music that goes good with your routine...

There are definitely shows year round. Hang tight for Philia and Sicily as they have both competed before and are both preparing for an upcoming competition as well. They'll be able to give you all the details! /forum/images/icons/wink.gif
