I'm a newbie body builder, just working out to put on some muscle mass. Unfortunately, I'm also lactose intolerant, which means I can't consume any dairy products smilies/images/icons/frown.gif
I was wondering if anyone has any recipes for protein shakes that doesn't include dairy ingredients? Preferably ones that doesn't taste horrible smilies/images/icons/smile.gif

If you're going to drink your protein shake after your workout, you could use orange juice or any type of juice (just try something out). If you want to cut down on the sugars, you'll have to use water and just throw it down. You'll get used to it. Someone else may have some better ideas. Welcome to the board! This is the greatest forum you will find.

Hi and welcome aboard. You might see if you can tolerate whey protein, its 99.8 percent lactose free. If you can stomach that then you are in! Otherwise, try purchasing egg protein. Its an excellent source of amino acids! And sicne you are new read the site through a few times.

I will use water and Crystal-lite powder to flavor my whey protein...works great, tastes good...and Crystal-lite is only 5 cals. for a full serving of it. My favorite is Vanilla Ultra-Whey and Raspberry Ice Crystal lite.
