I am tryign to understand if people are trying everything to make most protein shakes taste good such as adding fruit and chocolate etc why not just make some eggs or chicken or something that tastes good? I mean if you are taking the time to mix fruit and stuff with your shake take that same time and make a chicken breast or microwave some egg whites.

Right now I am on a bulk and I can't stand to hardly eat any food right now, but I do. I actually look forward to protein shakes (I like the taste). Sometimes I add all that stuff just to get more calories (such as peanut butter). I can't really stand to eat any whole food right now. It's great for me to be able to get that many calories in liquid form. I have been drinking protein shakes for a while now (with skim milk) and I love the taste of them. I especially like strawberry fat-free yogurt (lots of sugar), milk, ice, and chocolate whey protein for a post-workout shake. That is the best thing I have all day. I am sick of CHICKEN, TUNA, COTTAGE CHEESE, ETC. That's my reason for protein shakes instead of real food.

amen to that! i have eaten soo much chicken that i feel like im a nugget away form wiping out the entire species! also whey protien has other and more benificial qualities than regular protien. plus i enjoy messing around and experimenting with my blender.

i third that , food gets sickenin the more u have, i just add tons of fruit and stuff to get the calories, i have like 4 cans of tuna a day, which gets sick fast.

why a shake....cause im sick of tuna. i hear most people in here saying they dont like the way shakes taste but i disagree with them cause i love mine and look forward to them. plus the taste of the chocolate shake kinda helps with the craving for junk food so it is good in two ways actually. smilies/drool.gif

Shakes are the greatest thing since sliced bread!
1. chicken does not assimilate fast enough after a workout
2. A bodybuilder on a serious bulk will have a difficult if not impossible time trying to get all their calories from solid food alone.
3. Its a great source of protein.
4. When you get deep into it, taste becomes relative and results become numero uno. Especially when you are eating like a maniac

hoorayyy for shakes,i take a shake with every meal sometimes i dont eat whole foods and just drink 3 scoops of optimum whey protein which is 66g protein 6g carbs and i think 4.5g fat at 330 calories
