For all you tuna lovers that are looking for a new recipe, here you go:
Tuna patties:
in a bowl, mix:
1 can drained tuna
1 egg (whole or white)
mix
add 1-2 Tablespoons mustard (or any other condiment you like)
mix
add salt and pepper and mix
spoon out in tablespoon portions
put into sprayed skillet
fry on warm turning when bottom is solid
turn a couple times until inside is dry
Makes 6 patties.
I eat 2 cans myself = 12 patties
This recipe is DELICIOUS!! smilies/drool.gif smilies/drool.gif smilies/drool.gif smilies/drool.gif
Enjoy!!

whats the best type of tuna--in my house i have bumble bee can in vegetable oil it has 110cals 50 from fat 0carbs and 13g of protein.is there any other types with more protein less cals????????
The BIG Gun
05-30-2001, 02:49 PM
that is fine. all small cans of tuna are either 2-2.5 servings per can. that makes your can 32.5g of protein if it is 2.5. starkist is 2.5 servings per can. generic brands tend to be 2 servings per can. you'll be fine with just about any kind of tuna you want to buy.

Thanks for the recipe. My girlfriend is getting ready to make them for us right now. I'll let you know how they taste. I was really sick of tuna and have quit eating it for a couple of weeks, but nothing is a better source of protein for the price!

Thanks so much for the great recipe! I made them tonight, and they were awesome! Even my sister, who thinks most of the stuff I eat is disgusting, came into the kitchen while I was cooking them, and was like "that smells good!!!" (a few words that I RARELY hear from her ;P). They tasted great, and were so easy and quick to make!
Thanks again!

Sunkist tuna in the bag is the best. It's in sunflower oil and requires no draining.

I just tried this, and these patties just got annhiliated in seconds. Screw jerkey, this is officially my new emergency meal. I'm gonna have to cook a bunch at once and keep em in the fridge. I had to bump this up. Too good to rot in page 8...
Just out of curiousity, how many should you have in one sitting? I'm trying to stay lean, and this looks like a sweet recipe. I'm assuming this counts as a meal, but how many should I eat?
Wow. I just made it with Dijonaise instead of mustard and man....these things taste really good. I'm impressed. I just want to know how many of them I can have while on a cut. And it should be fine if I take it in the morning right? smilies/drool.gif
I made these for lunch today and they are good. Almost good enough that you forget you are eating tuna...again :)

I got totally burned out on eating tuna right out of the can. The only upside is that you can dash into any store and get it and "bata bing bata boom". I tried albacore the other day and it was a lot better in my opinion, but haven't checked out the stats on albacore.
