Static Pullups

Static Pullups in my opinion are as painful, if not more painful than the almighty squat.  Nothing will test your mental strenght more than these!  However, I also liken it to the squat as far as gains are concerned.  These widen the back perhaps like no other exercise! 

Implementation: (A) Grasp a chinning bar with an overhand grip, hands wider than shoulder width. (B) Now pull yourself up so that the back of your neck touches the bar.   (C)  Hold yourself in this position until failure or an amount of time you have specified.  ( See 60 seconds and grow man grow article )

Variations:  You can perform these super wide, medium grip, close or shoulder width, each stresses the lats in a different way.
