Plate Upright Rows

These work the traps through a full range of motion.  I love supersetting shrugs with plate rows!  As a side note these also build up the forearms and delts.  I use this as a finisher to my delt or trap routine.

Implementation:  (A)  With your finger tips, using an overhand grip, grasp an Olympic plate on its edge.  Your hands should be extremely close to each other, almost touching in fact.  (B) Stand Straight up and allow the plate to hang in front of you.  From this fully extended position, row upward until you get a peak contraction in your delts and traps.  Now lower slowly under control.
