Olympic Plate Seated Hand Squeeze

Here we work the forearm flexors and improve grip strength.

Implementation: (A)  Grasp a forty-five pound Olympic plate by the ridge in each hand. Sit at the end of a flat bench with your feet planted firmly on the floor and your back straight.   You may also do this standing.  (B)  With the plates at arm's length at your sides with your palms facing in, lower the plates until your fingers are nearly extended but still capable of holding the weights. Inhale and close your hands, raising the plates a few inches. Continue doing this until your grip commences to give out.

Note:  You can do this exercise with both hands at the same time.  You can alternate from one hand to the other or do the exercise one hand at a time.
