Supersets
Supersets or Compound sets are two exercises done in a row without stopping. If you want to up the intensity even more you can do 3 exercises in a row! It takes a lot of effort to build up the endurance that it takes to do supersets, but this kind of conditioning develops in time if you keep working on it. There are two ways to use this fantastic shocking method: (1) You can do two exercises in a row for the same body part (bench press and dumbbell flys); or (2) you can work two different body parts (barbell curls with lying triceps extensions).
Supersetting within the same muscle group allows you to really shock a muscle into growth. You will be surprised how a muscle that appears to be burnt out can still have a lot of strength remaining if you make it perform a slightly different movement. To do this, you need to start with the most demanding excercise and then go to one that is less difficult i.e. Barbell Squats followed by Sissy Squats.
